Portman’s New Stance On Gay Marriage Affects Poll Numbers
U.S. Senator Rob Portman’s new stance on gay marriage may be costing him in the polls.
In a new Quinnipiac University poll, 40 percent of GOP Ohioans approve of Portman’s job performance.
That is down about four percent from February.
Portman announced his support of same-sex marriage in March after his son, Will, told his family he is gay.
25 percent of people polled said Portman's reversal on the issue made them think negatively of him.
