An animal owner says part of her pony's tail has been swiped from Watkins Road in Marysville.

She says that 9-year-old Pistol was found without more than two feet of his ash-color tail.

According to the police report, it was clipped overnight between August 11 and 12. Some of Pistol's mane was also missing.

Why would the thieves take it?

Police say that horse hair is often used in making bracelets and purses.

There are no suspects at this time. Anyone with information on the crime should call the Union County Sheriff’s Office.
