A woman is charged with attempting to rob a pizza delivery person while carrying a claw hammer.

Reynoldsburg police said that they hoped to put a stop to a crime spree that involved similar robberies in recent weeks.

Lt. Ron Wright said that there have been four similar robberies in the past month.

When a pizza shop manager became suspicious about a phone order on Saturday, he called police, Wright said.

Officer Kevin McCrady put on plain clothes, grabbed a pizza and made the delivery to Wigwam Court, while other officers hid in the shadows.

“Officer McCrady arrived with the pizza items,” Wright said. “As he was walking up to the door, he observed three suspicious persons who started approaching him from a concealed area by one of the houses. And that’s when the officers converged in on the three suspicious persons and arrested them.

Anna Maria Harris, along with two juveniles, was arrested.

Harris, 18, is charged with aggravated robbery.

Police said that Harris was carrying a claw hammer, and one of the two juveniles arrested was carrying a fake gun.

Police said that they were questioning Harris and the others in connection with similar crimes in Reynoldsburg and other communities.
