Police Say Woman Died After Running Stop Sign, Crashing On Southeast Side


Police said Thursday that physical evidence has determined the cause of deadly crash.

According to police, physical evidence revealed that Brenda Lutz failed to yield to a stop sign near Linwood and Frebis avenues around 11p.m. Wednesday.

Lutz’s 2005 Chevrolet Monte Carlo drove into the path of an oncoming vehicle containing two men.

Lutz, 53, was transported to Grant Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead around midnight.

The two men were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

It was not known whether alcohol or narcotics were a factor in the crash.
