Police Say Man Admitted To Stabbing Driver Multiple Times

A Columbus man is being accused of stabbing the man who was driving the vehicle he was riding in.

Kelvin B. Caldwell is being charged with Felonious Assault in the stabbing.

Caldwell, 42, allegedly stabbed Anthony Jones several times in the chest, wrist and torso on the afternoon of Friday, Nov. 9.

The assault occurred around Town Street and Plato Place, and Jones then drove himself to Doctor's West Hospital.

According to police, Jones picked Caldwell's picture out of a photo line-up following the attack.

During questioning, Caldwell admitted to stabbing Jones, police said.

Caldwell also claimed that Jones had hit him with a beer bottle and punched him during the altercation. Caldwell said Jones was trying to force him out of the car after an argument.

A judge set Caldwell's bond at $100,000 on Tuesday. He was also ordered to stay away from the victim.
