Police: Man Smelling Of Alcohol Caught Driving With Child In Vehicle
Authorities arrested a man after they said an odor of alcohol was detected in his vehicle.
The Fayette County Sheriff's Office received a report around 5 p.m. Sunday of an intoxicated man leaving a business in a vehicle, near state Route 435 and Interstate 71.
Deputies pulled the vehicle over to find Herbert Rogers behind the wheel.
Investigators said that they detected the smell of alcohol when speaking to Rogers, 50.
Authorities found that Rogers had his young child in the car with him. Rogers was arrested after being requested to take a field sobriety test.
Sheriff's deputies charged Rogers with OVI and one count of child endangering.
He was being held in the Fayette County Jail.
The child, who was not reported to be injured, was released to the custody of family members.
