Police Make 6 Arrests During Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint

Six people were arrested at a sobriety checkpoint Friday night in northwest Columbus.

Police said that 787 vehicles were stopped on Sawmill Road, south of Festival Lane, from 9:10 p.m. Friday night until 2:15 a.m. Saturday morning.

Authorities said six people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Other citations that were issued included open container violations, driving with a license under suspension and one drug possession.
