Police Look For Suspect In West Columbus Bank Robbery

Franklin County Sheriff's deputies investigated a bank robbery Thursday morning.

The robbery was reported at the Huntington National Bank at 4957 West Broad St. around 9 a.m.

Sheriff's officials say a while male suspect approached a teller, handed her a plastic bag and demanded money.

The bank teller complied, and the suspect fled into a wooded area behind the bank. He escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

No weapon was shown or implied.

The suspect is described as being in his late 40s with dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, jeans, black shoes and a dark green camouflaged ball cap. Police said he was described as around 5 feet 1 inch to 5 feet 5 inches tall. He weighed around 150 pounds.
