Police Identify 8-Year-Old Boy Who Died After Being Struck By Vehicle


An 8-year-old boy died Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle in West Liberty.

According to the West Liberty Police Chief, the boy was crossing North Detroit Street with his 12-year-old brother shortly before 11 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle heading southbound.

The chief said the boy, identified as Colton Furrow, was taken to Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, where he died.

The siblings were not in a crosswalk at the time.

The driver did stop at the scene, and no criminal charges are expected to be filed.

The name of the boy was not immediately released.
