Police planned to show photos of a robbery suspect to victims Friday after they took him into custody following a police-involved shooting.

Miguel Neil is accused of leading authorities through a chaotic series of events that ended with him being taken down inside a dance studio full of children.

According to investigators, it all started when the man allegedly attempted to rob a Bureau of Motor Vehicles office. SWAT officers, who had been following Neil, said he apparently spotted them and tried to flee the scene.

The man, who police identified as Neil, was pursued and struck by a police vehicle that was trying to apprehend him. The impact threw the suspect into another officer. At that point, there was a confrontation, and the suspect continued to try to get away. An officer fired a shot at him, but the suspect was not struck.

The suspect then went into the Footsteps Family Dance Center, which was full of children.

Officers said they were able to use a Taser and take him into custody at that point.

The officer who was struck by a vehicle was not seriously hurt.
