Police Continue To Search For At Least 2 Gunmen Who Left 1 Dead, Another Wounded

Police are searching for at least two gunmen responsible for rattling a north east Columbus neighborhood on Friday.

Police said that Zachary White, 18, was shot and killed, and his fiancée, Amber Ramoli, 19, was hospitalized after a shooting in the 1600 block of Manchester Avenue.

The shooting, which occurred Friday afternoon, prompted the evacuation of residents in nearby homes and the closure of both Cleveland Avenue at Weber Road and Westerville Road, between Aberdeen Avenue and Weber Road.

The Columbus SWAT team also was called to the scene after reports of multiple armed people.

Mother Marquisa Hill said that her daughter witnessed the shooting.

“No mother should have to put up with her baby trying to tell her what she witnessed, because it shouldn’t have happened, it should have happened in front of babies,” Hill said.

She said that the entire scene was frightening for her and her children.

“She didn’t know that he died, but to actually see it and know that the police were here was so scary,” Hill said.

Police said that they were on heightened alert in the area and would be increasing patrol.
