Termination was one of three options recommended by the Columbus Division of Police Chief in regards to a lieutenant accused of falsifying overtime documents.

Lieutenant Troy Casner was accused earlier this year of falsifying overtime documents.

An investigation revealed that Casner falsified overtime documents at least nine times and failed to supervise narcotics operations five times.

The police chief made three recommendations for three possible disciplinary actions. They include 240 hours of suspension, a demotion to the rank of officer or termination.

It is up to the city safety director to decide.
