A United Express plane landed safely at Port Columbus Saturday night after a possible mechanical issue.

The Embraer E145 took off from Philadelphia International Airport and was headed to Chicago O'Hare International.

Peter Kowalchuk, the Corporate Communications director for Chautauqua Airlines, the flight's operator, reported it was diverted to Port Columbus because of weather conditions.

The 50 passengers on board were able to get off the plane safely and were placed on another flight.
