Parents Indicted On Charges In Connection To Death Of 16-Month-Old

A Franklin County grand jury has indicted two people in connection with their 16-month-olds death.

Michael Wilder, 29, and Greta Sahatciu, 23, were charged in connection with the death of Maiya Wilder on July 1.

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office said that the baby died after being left unattended for nearly 10 hours in a bedroom with a space heater turned on.

The parents told investigators they had left her alone for 10 hours while they took sleeping pills and slept in another room, according to authorities.

Wilder was indicted on four counts including Involuntary Manslaughter, Endangering Children, and two counts Endangering Children.

Sahatciu was indicted on four counts including Tampering with Evidence and three counts Endangering Children.

The couple is scheduled to be arraigned on August 7.
