Overturned truck crash closes I-270 near Gahanna

Franklin County Sheriff's Office is investigating an injury crash that closed all lanes of Interstate 270 south Monday morning.

The driver, identified as 45-year-old Mark Schriner, of Gahanna, was hospitalized after overturning a Freightliner truck on I-270 south on the northeast side.

The crash happened around 6:30 a.m.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office, after passing Interstate 670, the truck went off the right side of the roadway up an embankment. The truck then rolled and Schriner was ejected.

Schriner was transported to Grant Hospital by Mifflin Township medics where he is currently in serious condition. He was not wearing his seatbelt, according to the sheriff's office.

All lanes of I-270 southbound have since reopened following the rollover crash.

Editor's Note: This story has been corrected to show the driver remains in critical condition. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office previous stated the driver passed away at the hospital.
