A 20-year employee of the Ohio State University Medical Center is in the Franklin County Jail accused of stealing tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of medical equipment. Jamie Goble is now facing felony theft charges, after police said they caught him in the act.

A search warrant shows a rash of thefts prompted hospital security to install a hidden camera. Police said that hidden camera caught Goble stealing boxes of medical supplies.

Ohio State University Police said they arrested Jamie Goble Saturday inside a university parking garage.

Goble is accused of stealing 17 boxes of medical supplies worth more than $21,000.

According to court documents, earlier in April, Goble was caught on video removing more than $27,000 worth of surgical staplers from a supply room.

Goble, according to records, is employed with the medical center as a biomedical clinical technician.

On Saturday, university police served a search warrant at his Westerville home, looking for cell phones, computer equipment, financial statements and any items related to hospital medical supplies.

A spokesperson for the medical center said Goble has been placed on unpaid leave and is no longer allowed on campus.
