One Person Hurt After Shots Fired Into Northeast Columbus Home

Columbus Police are investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital in critical condition.

It happened in the 2200 block of Brentnell Boulevard in Northeast Columbus around 6 p.m.

Police said two individuals were walking northbound on Brentnell Boulevard when one of the individuals pulled out a handgun and fired multiple shots.

Police said the shots went through the wall of the home, striking 50-year-old Tracy Humphrey at least once.

Family members said Humphrey was in the home with her boyfriend, son and her son's friend at the time.

She was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, but is expected to be okay.

A short time later, police arrested 18-year-old David Thomas in connection with the shooting.
