An off-duty Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper was arrested Friday morning for speeding and drunken driving.

According to investigators, Tiffany Wilson was driving along Interstate 71 north in Morrow County at about 12:30 a.m. when she was stopped for driving 102 mph in a 65 mph zone.

Wilson, 39, registered a 0.16 blood alcohol level, which is twice the legal limit, 10TV’s Glenn McEntyre reported.

Wilson had been with the Ohio State Highway Patrol for 12 years.

Wilson’s badge, weapon and ID card were taken away from her, and she was put on leave on Friday.

Wilson will be placed on desk duty pending the outcome of an investigation, McEntyre reported.

Investigators said that Wilson was not jailed during the traffic stop but was cited and allowed to go home.

OSHP officials said that it was not uncommon to charge and release a first-time OVI offender when there are no extenuating or aggravating circumstances.

Wilson was not immediately available for comment.
