Ohio State’s John Cooper To Be Inducted Into Rose Bowl Hall Of Fame


Ohio State University’s second winningest coach will be inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame later this month.

According to OSU officials, John Cooper, who led the Buckeyes to 111 victories between 1988 and 2000, will be inducted on Dec. 30 at the Pasadena Convention Center as part of the 2012 class of the Rose Bowl Hall of Famers.

Coopers teams in both the Big Ten and the Pac-10 won the Rose Bowl under his purview. OSU won in 1997, and Arizona State won in 1987.

Other Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame include John Hicks (2009), Pete Johnson (2007), Curly Morrison (1993), Rex Kern (1991), Archie Griffin (1990) and Woody Hayes (1989).

In addition to Cooper, Ron Yary and Brian Griese will be inducted into the Hall of Fame on Dec. 30.
