Ohio State University Releases Audio Of Band Director's Tirade

The now-ousted Ohio State University Band Director was recorded yelling at a band member.

Jon Waters was dismissed Thursday after a two-month investigation determined he knew about and failed to stop a "sexualized" culture of rituals.

On Friday, audio was released that features Waters yelling obscenities at a drum major.

According to a report issued earlier this week, Waters told investigators that he did not yell or scream at students.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the audio was recorded without Waters knowledge in September 2013.

The audio includes the following statements by Waters:

“And you (expletive) better realize who you’re dealing with. We told you to do something on the field and you outright disrespected him and me. Now this will not stand. We tell you to stand on your head and as drum major, you’ll stand on your god (expletive) head if you want to be drum major. Do you understand?”

Earlier this week, Ohio State President Michael Drake says the university values respect and diversity and he was disappointed and shocked by the investigative findings.
