Ohio State To Celebrate Perfect Season
The Ohio State University Department of Athletics will hold an enthusiastic celebration for the general public of Ohio State’s undefeated, 12-0 season Friday, Dec. 7 at St. John Arena. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with music from the Ohio State University Marching Band starting at 6:30 p.m. and the program to follow shortly thereafter.
Ohio State students holding a valid BuckID card will be admitted and seated in the bleachers surrounding the court.
Ticket vouchers – free – are needed by the general public to be admitted into the event. Vouchers can be printed off or scanned to a smart phone from the following link: Perfect Season.
The Best Damn Band in the Land will get things going with a selection of fight songs and Ohio State favorites at 6:30 p.m. This skull session-like celebration of the Buckeyes, who finished undefeated and untied for only the sixth time in 123 seasons of football, also will feature:
- Ohio State’s cheerleaders and Brutus Buckeye
- Remarks from President Gordon Gee
- Local and statewide dignitaries, including Governor John Kasich and Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman
- Coach Urban Meyer commenting on the season and his senior class
- Comments from players
- A presentation of the Big Ten Conference Leaders Division championship trophy.
The championship trophy will be on display before the event along the south side of St. John Arena. Championship apparel also will be available for purchase at a booth in the southwest lobby of the arena.
Fans are encouraged to park in the Tuttle Garage and the Ohio Stadium lots. All entrances to St. John Arena will be open.
