Ohio Patrol Officer Pricked With Heroin Needle At State Fair

An officer with the Ohio State Highway Patrol was pricked with a heroin needle while patting down a suspect last week.

According to authorities, an officer was patting down Joseph Bacon of Cincinnati last Tuesday after he set off a metal detector at the Ohio State Fair.  During the incident, an officer was pricked by a needle that was used for heroin several days prior.

The officer was treated at the scene and will undergo follow-up tests to detect any blood-borne pathogens.

Bacon was charged with drug possession and fined $250.  His license was also suspended for 180 days.
