Sorry internet, but the new mascot for the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles will not be named Platey McPlateface.

The BMV announced today that "Miles" is the new name of its mascot, an Ohio license plate with arms and legs and a smile.

The new name was revealed at the Ohio State Fair, which kicked off Wednesday.

In June, the BMV asked people on Twitter and Facebook for ideas on what to name the new mascot. The bureau said only appropriate names would be considered.

When the BMV asked for suggestions, it did not take long for someone to recommend the name Platey McPlateface, an ode to a British research ship the internet voted to name Boaty McBoatface.

The BMV will be at the Ohio State Fair, which runs through August 6.
