Officer Injured Investigating Possible Meth Lab

Marion Police arrested two men Tuesday night after investigating a possible meth lab.

Police said they found chemicals and other components used in the manufacture of methamphetamine inside an apartment in the 100 block of Jefferson Street.

A small amount of meth was also found.

Police arrested Jacob D. Workman, 27, and Joseph L. Ralston, 27. Both are charged with illegal manufacture of methamphetamine and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacture of methamphetamine.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office and one agent from the Bureau of Criminal Investigations assisted in the clean up.

One Marion police officer was treated at Marion General Hospital after he inhaled chemicals in the apartment. The officer was released from the hospital Tuesday night.
