COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 50-year-old man is dead after crashing his car into a pole in west Columbus early Wednesday morning.
The crash happened at Sullivant Avenue and South Glenwood Avenue shortly after 1:50 a.m.
Columbus Police said John Mangus was driving a Chevy Tahoe eastbound on Sullivant Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a utility pole.
Mangus was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition and later pronounced dead at 2:50 a.m.
