Newark Assistant Band Director Accused Of Sex With Student

Newark police are accusing an assistant band director at Newark High School of having sex with student.

According to Police, Anthony J. Miller, 32, of Westerville, was arrested and charged with Sexual Battery.

Detectives say none of the alleged act occurred on school grounds.

Investigators say Miller allegedly had sex with a student while he was working at the school.

Police arrested Miller on Monday at Carson Elementary, one of several schools where he teaches music.

Newark police tell 10TV they were tipped to the crimes after an alert parent found information on a social media site.

The information, police say was from Miller with sexual suggestions. The girl did not go through with the invitation to meet Miller.

Detectives say they believe additional victims may exist.

Miller is currently incarcerated at the Licking County Justice center and is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow.
