A man accused of stabbing and killing his roommate on New Year’s Eve is not facing charges.

Columbus Police said an initial investigation shows he acted in self-defense.

The stabbing was the result of an early morning fight at a duplex apartment in the 1700 block of East Weber Road in north Columbus.

Police said 44-year-old William Justis was stabbed multiple times.

He was still alive when medics first arrived on the scene but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The Franklin County Prosecutor's Office will further review the case.
