Van Meter's family is now watching over her 13 month old child.

Thierry said her daughter left the day she died to go have breakfast with her boyfriend. She never came home. Thierry says her daughter didn't know the man accused of murdering her.

Detectives told Van Meter's parents they are close to making an arrest.

"I'm glad they have maybe some leads doesn't feel right 'til they put the guy away," Terry Van Meter said. He is holding tight to his granddaughter for comfort.

"She was kind and loving. She adored her daughter. She adored her daughter."
