Mt. Vernon Man Accused of Having Sex, Giving Drugs to Girls

According to the Knox County prosecutor, investigators are searching for 42-year-old James S. Cremeans.

Cremeans is charged with rape, gross sexual imposition, unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and corrupting another with drugs.

He is accused of raping a girl, having sex with another girl and giving methamphetamine and marijuana, as well as providing marijuana to two other girls year olds.

One of the alleged victim’s fathers says he was a friend of Cremeans.  That’s how he says he developed a trust for the Cremeans.

“It's the worst thing you can imagine. Try so hard to keep them safe, and then find out this happens. You feel like you've let your daughter down,” the victim’s father told 10TV.

According to the indictment obtained by 10TV, Cremeans is accused of raping a 7-year-old in May of 2007.

Cremeans also allegedly engaged in sexual conduct and gave drugs to another 13-year-old girl in October of last year.

On that same date, he’s accused of giving drugs to two other 13-year-olds.

“It's sad to see there are sick people out there,” said one the mother of one victim. “He needs to be locked away, he’s a monster.”

At Cremeans last known address, his mother told 10TV a different story.

“He loved those kids like his own, and he says he will admit to mistakes he has made, but he would never admit to something like that because he is totally innocent of that,” said Carol Cremeans, the suspect’s mother.

Carol Cremeans said that her son was at the house Friday morning and that he did not know anything about the indictment.

Authorities continue to search for him.
