A Columbus mother is thankful that her daughter is safe after a scary encounter with a stranger.

Airiyanna Luttrell, 12, said she was in her backyard by herself on Duxberry Avenue on Tuesday afternoon when a stranger came up to her and asked for directions.

Luttrell said when she looked up, the man was exposing and pleasuring himself.
She said when the man moved toward her, she took off running to a neighbor's house.

"I was scared when I saw that," Luttrell said. "Because it was just a horrible sight."

The girl's mother, Jacqueline Boyd, said the man's been seen driving around the neighborhood in the days since.

"It really scared me," Boyd said. "I posted on Facebook Wednesday for the Linden community to be on the lookout for this truck."

Luttrell said the man was in his 30s, heavyset and was driving a red truck with a trailer attached to it.
Columbus police are handling the case.
