Man Who Had Leg Amputated At Scene Of Crash Dies

A man has died days after his leg was amputated at the scene of a crash.

Todd Doss remained hospitalized in serious condition at Grant Medical Center after the Nov. 11 crash. He was pronounced dead around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said that Doss was struck along Parsons Avenue near Chatterly Lane about 2 p.m. that Sunday.

According to authorities, a Buick Regal going northbound went left of center for an unknown reason.

The family said that doctors were forced to amputate Todd’s leg just above his knee.

The police report said a female was driving the car that struck Doss, and the report indicates she ran from the scene.

WBNS-10TV visited the home where the vehicle is registered, and a woman there told us her male cousin was driving the car.

Police were investigating if alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash. It was not clear if charges were filed.
