Man Of Steel May Soon Appear On Ohio License Plates
It's not a bird or a plane - but Superman on that license plate!
Ohio lawmakers are considering honoring the legendary superhero, 75 years after his first comic book appearance.
Superman was created by two Cleveland High School teenagers during the Great Depression.
Comic book historian Gib Bickel said the Man of Steel inspired just about every other character.
“A lot of people don't realize Superman was created in Cleveland, so he's an Ohio boy. Obviously New York claims him, but he was born and raised in Cleveland Ohio, said Bickel, The Laughing Ogre.
The plates, if approved, will feature the Superman insignia and the slogan "Truth, Justice & the American Way."
