Man Shot While Standing In Front Of His Car


A man is recovering from a bullet wound after he says a group in an SUV pulled up beside him and opened fire.

The shooting happened Thursday night around 7:00 p.m. in the area of South Gift Street and West Town Street near downtown Columbus.

38-year-old Tyrone Thomas says a he was standing in front of his car when a white SUV with rolled up with four men inside.

Columbus Police say two of the men got out and one shot Thomas.

When police arrived, they found Thomas sitting on a porch with a gunshot wound to the thigh.

Medics took him to the hospital.

Thomas is expected to survive.

There is no word on suspects in the shooting.
