One person was shot in the foot after a dispute over dogs being tied outside of a Columbus McDonald's on Cleveland Avenue.

McDonald's employees say the victim was a regular customer who often tied up his three dogs outside on a flag pole.

Witnesses said that another man was walking by Wednesday morning when the dogs barked and lunged at him.

The dog's owner left the restaurant to talk to the man who pointed a gun at the dogs, and then turned and shot the owner in the foot.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center in unknown condition.
No arrests were immediately made.

The McDonald's Drive-Thru remains open, but the main restaurant is closed.
