A man is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a person who shot a family dog.

According to the Chillicothe Gazette, Michael Hardesty and others were sitting behind his home on Monday night when they heard two gunshots.

He said he ran around the site of his home, located in the 2600 block of Baptist Hill Road, to find his white Boxer, Boo, dead in the yard.

“It’s just a sad thing someone would do that,” Hardesty told the Gazette.

Hardesty said that people with information should call him at 740-755-8963 or the sheriff’s office at 740-773-1185.

Tips also can be submitted anonymously to Southern Ohio Crime Stoppers at 740-773-TIPS.
