Man Killed In Shooting Is Brother Of Man Murdered In June

10TV has learned that the brother of a man killed Thursday night was murdered earlier this year.

Brandon Beard, 23, was shot to death in a northeast Columbus neighborhood Thursday night.

“It’s like our hearts are stripped out of our bodies and stuff. It’s very hard,” said Bertha Henry, Brandon’s grandmother.

The shooting occurred in the 1700 block of East 26th Avenue.

Beard’s family says he was at the residence to pick up clothes from a friend’s house.

“I was hurt. It ain’t even been four months since my brother Demetreous been gone. My family is suffering though a lot right now,” said the victim’s sister Rakia Beard.

Police sources told 10TV that his brother was murdered on June 21.

Demetreous Beard, 19, was killed on Lance Court in the West Brooke Mobile Home Community.

Detectives said two people were being questioned in the shooting of Brandon Beard from Thursday.

“I want them to pay for what they did to my babies,” Henry told 10TV’s Jason Frazer. “I want justice for both of them and I’m not going to rest until I get justice.”
