Man Hospitalized In Critical Condition After South Side Stabbing


One man was hospitalized after being stabbed Thursday evening.

According to Columbus police, the man, identified as 19-year-old Franklin Bettes, was taken to Grant Medical Center in critical condition after the stabbing. He underwent surgery to repair his stabbing wounds, police said.
Police said that Bettes and another man, identified as 48-year-old Jeffrey Carper, were sitting on a porch in the 400 block of Frebis Avenue when they got into an argument at about 9:30 p.m.
According to police, Carper stabbed Bettes.
Carper was arrested and charged with felonious assault in connection with the stabbing.
The incident remained under investigation.
