Man Found Dead Inside Southeast Columbus Apartment
Homicide detectives are investigating a possible homicide in a South Columbus apartment.
Police say 38-year-old Shaun Fullen was found dead inside an apartment in the 1600 block of Smith Road.
Officers say Fullen's roommate told police he came home from work at 1 a.m. and found his roommate badly injured in the bathroom.
He told 10TV he found Fullen lying in the bathroom with a stab wound to his torso, and a knife lying in the bathtub next to him.
He said he ran for help. Neighbor Ranee Moore said she went to the victim and tried life-saving measures, but it was too late.
"I lost it... There's nothing to be said. I'm attached to him -- that's like my best friend, almost like my big brother," Moore said.
Investigators say there were no signs of forced entry into the apartment, but friends say the apartment looked like it had been ransacked.
Several people told police that they saw the victim Wednesday night.
Friends say they suspect Fullen knew who did this to him, and willingly let the suspect into his apartment.
Now, they hope that person is caught -- and quickly.
"It just hurts everybody. Like, whoever did it, come forward and say you did it. It's no need to hide from it," said Moore. "Eventually they're going to catch you and eventually you're going to go down for it. So, come forward and say that you did it."
Family members tell 10TV Fullen was a military veteran and father of one son.
