Union County deputies said they found the body of a man following an hours-long standoff in Millcreek Township Friday night.

Deputies said it started after a neighbor found a woman injured in a ditch outside of her home near Smart-Cole and Brown roads in Millcreek Township Friday afternoon.

That woman later died.

Deputies suspected the victim's estranged husband shot her and was inside their home.

After hours of trying to contact someone inside the home, deputies entered to find the body of a man.

"There wasn't any rush to go in there, put our officer's lives at risk to locate him at that time, said Union County Sgt. Chris Skinner.  "So we just made attempts to contact, utilizing family and friends and whatever to make contact with any of them, he just didn't respond to any of them, so at some point we just had to go in and find them."

On Saturday, coroner David Applegate identified the two as 51-year-old Diana Flagg and her husband, 58-year old Jerry Flagg Sr.
