A man is fighting for his life after police say he was shot in the head by a stray bullet in east Columbus.

Police were dispatched to 3208 Sterling Lane just before 2:30 p.m. Sunday after the shooting.

Officers found 32-year-old Ysuf Mohammed bleeding from the head.

Police said the bullet came through an exterior wall and struck Mohammed in the head while he was watching television.

He was taken to Grant Medical Center where he's listed in life threatening condition.

"I'm really shocked sometime there are things you can't believe. When I heard this, I was shocked. I couldn't believe it,” said
Abdigani Hassan, the victim's cousin.

Police are hoping a surveillance camera may have captured the person or persons who fired the gun into the apartment complex.

Police are not sure if the bullet was a stray or intended to hit the victim.  T

The victim's brother and cousin believe it was intentional, saying someone had to know Mohaamed was on the floor because the bullet
was fired just below the apartment window.
