Man Claims Pizza Delivery Driver Attacked Him Over $10 Dispute

Brett Conley told 10TV that all he wanted was a pizza last Friday night, so he placed an order for delivery at a Papa John's on Sullivant Avenue.

What happened next was a horrible ordeal.

Conley said he got a black eye, swollen cheek and stitched lip at the hands of an angry pizza delivery driver.

“Fortunately, there's not fracturing; a lot of swelling,” said Conley.

He told 10TV that he gave the driver $29 for the pizza which included the tip. He said the driver then came back 20 minutes later and pounded on his door, claiming that he was shorted $10 on the order.

Conley said the driver became belligerent, so he went to get more money. He tried to get the driver away from the door and that’s when he said the driver punched him.

Conley said he had a wad of $400 in his hand at that point and the cash spilled onto the driveway when he hit the ground. He thought the driver took the money, so he tried to confront him again.

“He finally started to walk away and pushed me down again,” said Conley.

Conley’s wife called 911 to report the fight that was over owing “$10.”

Conley said his injuries will heal, but his days of ordering pizza delivery may be over.

Columbus police have filed the case under robbery because Conley said that $120 is missing.

It's not clear if anyone has been charged.

10TV called Papa John’s for comment, but those calls were not returned.
