Man Charged With Trafficking Heroin In Washington Court House

Fayette County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man accused of trafficking heroin in Washington Court House.

Deputies arrested Shane Cooper, 26, around 7 p.m. Sunday following an undercover drug investigation.

Sheriff Vernon Stanforth said shortly after executing a search warrant and entering the house in the 1100 block of Campbell Street, Cooper began experiencing some medical issues.

He was transported to the Fayette County Memorial Hospital.

Detectives searching the house found a substance believed to be heroin and drug paraphernalia items.

Cooper is being held on charges of trafficking in heroin, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

Once doctors release him from the hospital, he will be transferred to the Fayette County Jail.

Cooper is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
