A 29-year-old man is expected to appear in court Thursday to face murder charges.

According to Columbus police, Nicholas George Roseberry is charged in connection with the deaths of 44-year-old Jose Avilez and 43-year-old Richard Gill Jr.

The two men were found dead on Aug. 30 at about 10 a.m. in a burning car in the 2300 block of Forest Creek Drive in west Columbus.

Officers were called to the apartment complex there for the burning vehicle and discovered the two bodies.

Police arrested Roseberry Monday and charged him with two counts of murder on Wednesday.

Detectives say Roseberry knew the victims, and that the relationship may have been connected with drugs.

Police are looking into whether there was an attempt to cover up the killings.
