Authorities have charged a driver who they say ran a red light in suburban Cleveland and caused a crash that killed a pregnant woman and two of her daughters.
Eric Calhoun of Warrensville Heights was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and made a brief court appearance Monday.
Police in Bedford say the crash Friday night killed 30-year-old Maria Thorpe of Maple Heights. She was six months pregnant.
The crash also claimed the lives of two of her daughters, ages 8 and 5. Two other daughters were injured in the crash.
Police have said they believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
Calhoun's attorney tells WEWS-TV in Cleveland that it was a tragic accident, and that there's no evidence his client was intoxicated.
