Man Charged For Allegedly Shooting At Columbus Police Officer

Columbus police have charged a man for shooting at an officer on the city's northeast side early Monday morning.

Miguel Zarco, 35, is accused of shooting at Officer Robert Martin and has been charged with attempted felonious assault.

Around 2 a.m., Martin says he witnessed a vehicle run through a stop sign near East Dublin-Granville Road and Busch Boulevard.

When he tried to pull the car over, shots were allegedly fired by Zarco.

The vehicle was later stopped by patrol down the road and a firearm was recovered.
