Man Busted With Drugs While Riding In Columbus Taxi


Marion Police stopped a Columbus taxi on Tuesday and found a man carrying a large amount of drugs.

Authorities stopped the cab near Greenwood and E. Mark Streets around 11:30 a.m. and started to search the passenger's bag.

In the bag, officers said they located 499 separate bundles of heroin, 20 grams of marijuana and more than $1,100 in cash.

Gartell, 33, fled the scene during the search. He was caught nearby.

He has been charged with aggravated trafficking in heroin and is being held at the Multi-County Jail.
