Man Arrested In Connection With Robbing Store, Punching Woman In Head Multiple Times

Mount Vernon police said that a man purchased a newspaper from a store and then jumped over the counter and emptied the store's cash register.

According to police, a man identified as 41-year-old Christopher Jobin, entered the Town Centre Marathon, located at 600 West High Street, at about 6:35 p.m. and robbed it.

Police said that Jobin punched the female cashier twice in the head and knocked her to the ground.

He then ran westbound from the store. Officers located Jobin to the Kokosing River. He was eventually apprehended at a business on Harcourt Road.

Jobin was awaiting charges at the Knox County Jail, police said.
