Man Arrested After Allegedly Bringing Drugs From Detroit To Marion

Members from the MARMET/METRICH Drug Task Force, along with the Marion County Sheriff's Office, arrested a man accused of bringing drugs into Marion from outside of the state.

According to the Marion Police Department, Richard Franklin Jr., 25, was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin after his vehicle was stopped at East Church and Summit streets at about 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

During the search, detectives located 15.4 grams of heroin.

Investigators said they believed Franklin brought the drugs from Detroit, Mich., to Marion to sell them.
