Man Accused Of Killing Baby Charged With Murder, Voluntary Manslaughter
A man was indicted on Friday in connection with allegedly shaking a 10-month-old baby to death.
Wayne "Wolf" Walker was indicted on multiple felony counts, including murder, involuntary manslaughter and voluntary manslaughter.
Deputies say the child's 24-year-old mother called 911 to report that her infant son was unresponsive. The child suffered injuries consistent with shaken-baby syndrome and died later at a Columbus hospital.
Walker was extradited to Pickaway County earlier this week after U.S. Marshals in Sacramento, Calif., arrested him on Dec. 2.
The maximum penalty for voluntary manslaughter is 11 years, but 10 years could be added to a sentence since he is an alleged repeat offender, according to officials.
