Man Accused Of 'Head-butting' State Trooper While Being Taken Into Custody

A man is accused of injuring an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper while being taken into custody on Wednesday.

According to court documents, a state trooper was taking Corey D. Malone, 32, into custody at the Ohio statehouse at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.

When the trooper tried to put a seatbelt on Malone to keep him in the back of the cruiser, Malone allegedly "head-butted" the trooper.

Troopers also said that Malone resisted putting his hands behind his back and tried to flee before he was handcuffed.

It was unknown why Malone was initially put into custody.

He faces felonious assault charges, among others.
